Washington's second auction of greenhouse-gas pollution allowances on May 31, 2023 raised more than half a billion dollars. Earth Finance's Chief Sustainability Officer, and former Washington State Senator, Reuven Carlyle, was the chief architect of this climate legislation. Of the auction results he said, "the premium cost to pollute is a sign that the pressure is on."
