Background

Therese Miranda-Blackney is a strategic advisor with more than 15 years of experience in clean energy product development, corporate procurement, and utility innovation. She specializes in helping companies navigate the evolving energy landscape by aligning product offerings and energy procurement strategies with regulatory structures, market signals, and customer needs.

Therese brings deep expertise in corporate renewable energy procurement, including power purchase agreement (PPA) mechanics, post-COD performance monitoring, and price benchmarking. At LevelTen Energy, she led the Performance Monitoring product and launched new offerings to support corporate buyers, including foundational work on the Granular Certificate Trading Alliance. Her recent work includes developing educational tools for corporate buyers exploring PPAs and other clean energy pathways.

She also has significant experience with demand-side solutions, virtual power plants, and utility tariff structures. As Manager, DER Strategy  at Puget Sound Energy, she shaped the roadmap for how customer programs and distributed energy resources, such as community solar, TOU rates, and distributed storage, could support grid operations. At Shifted Energy, she led business development and product strategy for a residential VPP platform, bringing together customer experience, grid value, and utility partnerships. She continues to advise startups and service providers regarding market trends in load flexibility and opportunities to maximize value.

Therese holds an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. in Science, Technology, and International Affairs from Georgetown University.
